About Us

About the Program is a six week program that costs $14.99. To successfully work the program, you must log on daily, listen to lessons, track your smoking habits, and try new strategies for quitting. It may seem like a lot, but let's face it, quitting smoking is hard and takes effort. DaretoQuit is the only interactive, individualized smoking cessation program that gives to daily lessons, strategies and activites, and successfully tailors itself to you and your smoking habits. It is based upon 30 years of scientific research on how to help people effectively break the habit. Most unique about is the video interface. You will be greeted daily by your quit coach who will get to know you and your personal smoking habits.

The program is broken down into three Modules: Assessment, Intervention, and Maintenance. During Assessment, the program:

  • gathers data about your smoking behavior through your daily logging of smoking urges and episodes
  • develops a personalized quit plan for you based upong the information that you input each day, and
  • presents lessons each day that will prepare you to successfully reach your Quit Date.

During the Intervention Module, the program:

  • uses the information gathered to select specific strategies to help you deal with urges,
  • continues to teach you useful lessons,
  • prepares you for hitting your quit date, and
  • gives you practical, specific strategies to help you get through the early stages of withdrawal.

During Maintenance, if you choose to stay on the program, you will work on:

  • preventing a smoking relapse,
  • dealing with slips, and
  • establishing a long-term, non-smoking lifestyle.

Each day when you log on to the program you will be directed to your personalized page, called My Page. Here, you will receive daily lessons, coping strategies, and feedback about how you are doing. This page will also contain your personal information, including a graph of all of your smoking episodes so you can easily track your progress over time.

This page will also serve as a daily guide giving you a "to do" list that will contain activities for you to review each day including daily lessons, important information and activities.

Throughout the program, you will be monitoring your smoking behavior. One item that will appear on your My To Do List everyday is “Log an episode” . This will take you to the Daily Record. The Daily Record is where you record your smoking urges and episode information. You'll be asked to record the date, time of day, smoking triggers, and how many cigarettes you smoked (even if you smoked "0"). It is important to record urges that occur even if you resist smoking..these are considered tremendous successes and you want to make sure they get recorded!

My Page also contains a toolbox. Initially, this box will be empty, but it will quickly fill with activities, coping strategies, and other information to help you kick the habit and remain smoke free. The toolbox will always be available to you and you are encouraged to check it frequently as the information in it will help you understand your smoking behavior and deal with difficult urges.

At Dare To we believe that quitting smoking is a process, and this unique program is here to guide you through the process. What is different about is that it is personal and interactive. No two people will work the program quite the same way, because no two individuals are exactly the same. It takes courage and effort to quit smoking, but I know you can do it...go ahead, we dare you!
